Having decided to organise a leaflet campaign, do you blanket an area and try and get as many responders as possible, or do you research areas/postcodes and target just your demographics?

There are pros and cons to both approaches. A blanket approach may mean that you grab the attention of someone who maybe isn’t your typical customer and would have been secluded from a targeted drop. This type of distribution works well over large numbers and areas, most likely on a shared to keep the costs to a minimal. This will ultimately cost a larger amount but its relative to the business and customer type. Door dropping every house in several areas for example, works really well when the client type is most generic ie for an Estate agent.

A targeted approach will work well where either you want to avoid certain demographics and target others. This means you can tailor your message to certain customer traits for example, a high end kitchen designer would likely want to target high income areas, avoiding new builds and social housing as it would be a waste in the main, of resources. This is a great way of keeping on top of your marketing budget and can give you a greater response rate. Businesses with limited funds would be best suited to this approach. Even those businesses that have a high budget, can spend more on a solo or higher quality materials.

Distribute4u provides the option of a tailored campaign at no extra cost. We can use our extensive local knowledge and experience as well as postcode files to tailor your drop to target your exact demographics. We can provide a solo or shared drop and you are provided with road reports either throughout the process or upon completion. This provides you with the perfect way to monitor the origin of leads and the effectiveness of your campaign. Why not get in touch to discuss your requirements or request a quote to see how affordable we really are?
